My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

             Grandpa, you were such a wonderful person in my life. I remember riding on the three wheeler in Germantown Hills and almost crashing into a tree. Thank goodness you pulled us away from that disaster. Your faith and Mary's have been a wonderful inspiration for our whole family.Knowing that we will reunite again is a great comfort. I have been talking to you and sure hope you can hear or know how much you have meaned to me. I was very young when we brought Mugsy as a kitten to you. He was so sweet....until we came to visit you again.He turned into your cat, and your cat only. Your kindness towards people and animals will not be forgotten. In the cold winter months you would arrive at our house, greet us and immediately go see Desi, our dog, out in the cold. How that dog loved you, and what a tremendous memory for me. You and Mary have been instrumental in our faith, through talks, and healing prayers for Sam. Just last December you both prayed fervently to bring healing to this home. I will never forget the life changing impact created for us. Thank you for serving our country, I am so proud to say that you were a WW two vet, and fought for freedom. Mary, we love you and have been praying for you to be comforted in this sad time. You have been an absolute tremendous blessing to Grandpa and this whole family. Mary I am sorry for your loss but we are very glad that Uncle Louie was fortunate to meet you. You were sincerely good for him. We have a new angel and spirit watching over us. Thank you Uncle Louie for the kindness that you showed all of us over the years. You never got angry or put out by 4 kids crawling all over you. Your patience was never ending to these children that thrived on your attention. It is a comfort to me to know that dad was there to greet you. I remember Christmas at mom (sis to you) and Dad's (joe to you) house sitting on the floor next to the coffee table chain somking and eating your favorite popcorn ballls. If any of us needed anything you would be there ready to work.  Your Bobcat was ready when we built the garage in Maruette Heights. Dana felt so blessed to see you last January and marveled how clear your memories were. When I got to see you after Aunt Jo passed in 2009. You came to the trailer in Mesa and looked around and said "I will say a prayer for you and Linda cause boy do you have a lot of work ahead of you." When I visited you and Mary' house in Maricopa you saw me and called me Marchie. That nickname you gave me when I was just a little shaver always warmed my heart and made me feel special. You were the only one to ever call me Marchie. You will be missed on the earthly plain but I already feel your presence with me. You were special to all the Brod clan.
