Marsha Brod Pfeiffer Uncle Louie December 4, 2013
Memories, wow so many. You missed my wedding because you were at Dad's at 4 am to cook a whole pig on your homemade 55 gal spit for the reception. That was your gift to us how wonderful that was. I remember you gambleing in the back room at the house.  Everyone liked gambling with you...it seems you were not to good at it.  Chain smoking in the living room and eating homemade popcorn balls with lots of molasses. You would talk and talk sometimes when no one was in the room.  You liked your sweets. When mom had heart surgery you came to visit her and when it was time to leave you said, " Well I gotta go to see some other people that are dieing." Me, Duane and Linda about split a gut laughing so hard. That has been brought up as a priviate joke on many ocassions over the years. When you decided to do something you did it. You bumped a car in a parking lot and decided before you hurt someone it was time to quite driving and you did. Just like now when you decided you were done and wanted to go see your brother. I knew it would not be long. Muggs was your loyal companion for so many years and you had a headstone for your kitty. When you lived in east peoria and germantown hills your yards always looked like a park. I really believe us kids inherited you and dad's work ethic. Just keep going til you drop. I remember a story when you were a kid and your dad was working in a well and you went off to play and the ladder was out and your dad was down in the well pretty much stuck. You got  good ol german lickin for that.  Another time he sent you to the store to get snuff and you brought home bubble gum. Some lessons were learned the hard way. I always enjoyed your stories and never tired of your humor and candor.  My beloved Uncle Louie you do not realize what an impact you had on the generations of the Brod Clan.  You were surely a treasure to us all.  You are still with me.........Marchie
